The Cayman Islands are known for their crystal white and sandy beaches, exhilarating water sports like snorkeling and scuba diving, vibrant marine life and luxurious yet affordable resorts and hotels.

These islands are also a perfect place for families, with activities that will keep everyone entertained. From horseback riding to kite surfing, there’s something for everyone here.

1. Rum Point

Rum Point is one of the most peaceful and serene spots on Grand Cayman. This laid back alternative to Seven Mile Beach is known for its soft, sand-lapping water, colorful beach bars and hammocks in the trees.

The beach at Rum Point is sheltered by the beautiful pier and palm trees, making it the ideal place to lounge in a hammock with a drink in hand, or drift into a mid-afternoon snooze. Head a little offshore and snorkelling is world class, with easy access to reefs and coral gardens.

Guests can indulge in a refreshing mudslide at the Wreck Bar on the beach, or go a bit further and dine at Rum Point Club. This popular spot is a perfect location to socialize with locals, sip cocktails and enjoy great island food.

Another must-visit place in the Cayman Islands is Old Man Bay, home to some of the most remarkable limestone rock formations on the island. The so-called Crystal Caves, formed over 1000 years ago, are one of the most stunning natural wonders on the island.

Rum Point

2. Stingray City

If you want to experience a unique aquatic adventure, then Stingray City is the place for you. Located in the North Sound area of Grand Cayman, this series of shallow sandbars is home to Southern Atlantic stingrays that are very friendly and comfortable with human interaction.

There are a number of companies that offer tours to Stingray City. Nick’s Private Charter and Happy Day Charters are two good options.

On these tours, you’ll visit the sandbar on a 26 or 30 foot boat that has a restaurant on board and all of the amenities you need for the trip. This is a great way to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Then, you’ll hop in the water to explore vibrant coral reefs teeming with tropical fish and other marine life. Lastly, you’ll end your tour at Starfish Point Beach where you can soak up the rays and admire starfish scattered across the beach.

Seven Mile Beach

3. Seven Mile Beach

Often cited as one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, Seven Mile Beach is a dreamlike stretch of flour-soft white sand that gently blends into sparkling cyan waters. A string of restaurants and resorts overlooks the water and makes for an ideal day of sunbathing, snorkeling and swimming.

When planning your trip to the Cayman Islands, don’t forget to spend some time on Seven Mile Beach! This iconic beach has been ranked as one of the most beautiful in the world and it’s a must-see on any vacation to Grand Cayman.

There are a number of ways to enjoy this pristine beach, from taking an excursion with transportation and drinks on board to enjoying the soft white sand and crystal blue waters on your own. If you’re looking for a more secluded beach experience, consider heading to Cemetery Beach on the northern end of 7-mile Beach.

West Bay

4. West Bay

When it comes to a quiet waterfront alternative to the busy tourist hot spot of Seven Mile Beach, West Bay is the ideal choice. Home to a variety of restaurants, shops and Barkers National Park, it offers the best of both worlds.

In fact, this residential district is just a short drive from everything Seven Mile Beach has to offer, without the crowds and higher cost of living. Convenient buses run daily between West Bay and Seven Mile Beach, making it easy to get to work or errands.

The Cayman Turtle Centre is one of the most popular attractions in Grand Cayman. It’s an excellent place to experience the local wildlife, including snorkeling with sea turtles, feeding crocodiles and watching sharks feed.

For breathtaking views of the islands, check out the Observation Tower. This stunning 75-foot-tall tower was created using three million Venetian glass tiles and has an elevator to access each floor. You can also find benches scattered throughout the tower for a quiet moment of reflection.
