Often called the “Pink City,” Jaipur is an incredible place to visit. With an amazing array of forts, palaces and other incredible sites, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is the perfect place to experience the best of Rajasthani culture.

Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) is a landmark that's a must-visit for all travelers to Jaipur. It's a red-and-pink sandstone structure with 953 small windows that let cool breezes in.

City Palace

Originally built by Sawai Jai Singh II, this vast complex represents a striking blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture. It is one of the top attractions in Jaipur and is a must-visit attraction for everyone visiting the Pink City.

The Palace is divided into two parts - one is open for the public and the other is reserved for the royal family. The descendants of the rulers still live in this private section till today!

The City Palace is home to a number of structures including pavilions, gardens, and temples. It also houses a museum where you can see various art pieces from India and abroad.

Jantar Mantar

Jantar Mantar is one of the most famous tourist places in Jaipur. It is an astronomical observatory that was built in the 18th century and has a collection of instruments to observe celestial bodies.

The monument has about 19 astronomical and archeological devices with different types of application, such as measuring time, predicting eclipses, tracking orbital stars or determining celestial heights.

Visiting the Jantar Mantar is an experience that is both interesting and educational. It is a must-see for travelers, historians, architects and mathematicians.

Hawa Mahal

Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds is one of the most recognizable monuments in Jaipur. It was built in 1799 using pink sandstone by the then ruler Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh.

It features 953 small windows, called jharokhas, that create a honeycomb-like shape. They were originally designed to give royal ladies a view of daily life and events happening below without being seen by the public.

They also sent a cooling breeze through the interiors, making summers in Rajasthan a little more bearable. Today, it's an architectural gem with an interesting small museum inside.

Nahargarh Fort

Located on the lofty Aravalli Hills, Nahargarh Fort is a must-visit tourist destination in Jaipur. Commissioned by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1734, it served as a retreat palace for the royal family.

The opulent structure of the fort has an effervescent charm that captures the senses of every wanderlust. Though largely neglected for years, it has recently seen a resurgence in popularity among local and foreign tourists alike.

The fort has a number of interesting features, including a lavish organic garden. It is also home to a wildlife sanctuary, known as the Nahargarh Biological Park. It is home to Bengal tigers, Himalayan black bears, Asiatic lions and Indian leopards.

Jal Mahal

Jal Mahal, which means water palace in English, is one of the most awe-inspiring sights to see in Jaipur. It is a magnificent structure sitting amidst Man Sagar Lake.

The 200-year old sandstone palace is known for its unique design and construction. It is a five-storey building out of which four floors stay under the water and only the top floor remains above it.

The sandstone palace looks more beautiful during the rainy season when it is coated with the rain’s emerald hues. The palace also catches the attention of tourists during sunrise and sunset, as it accentuates its beauty multifold.

Albert Hall Museum

The Albert Hall Museum, also known as Government Central Museum is a must visit place in Jaipur. Located in Ram Niwas Garden, it is a 133-year old museum that has a rich collection of art and history.

The museum exhibits a wide range of ancient coins, carpets, marble art, pottery, Egyptian mummy, and more. It’s a must-visit destination for every history lover!

The stunning domes and carved arches constructed from sandstone make the building extremely alluring. In addition, the museum is home to a variety of paintings, portraits, and woodwork. The museum is also an excellent venue to learn about Indian culture and history.
