Benefits of Booking Excursions in Langkawi through Mycitytrip.com:

The beautiful archipelago of Langkawi is a haven for those who love to explore. From beaches to mountains, cafes to sky bridges, there is a lot to see and do in this lovely place!

One of the most famous attractions in Langkawi is the Mahsuri Museum. This beautiful museum explains the legend of Mahsuri and her cursed island.

1. Mahsuri Museum

Located about 12 km away from Kuah Town, the Mahsuri Museum is a culturally important site. It houses the tomb of the legendary Princess Mahsuri and a diorama museum.

The story of Mahsuri is one of the most famous in Langkawi, and a trip here is worth taking to learn more about this legend. The museum contains a crypt of the princess and an outmoded Malay house, along with a diorama room and a theatre.

The museum also has a gift shop and a cafe where you can enjoy snacks and beverages. It is also a good place to catch an authentic Malay folk music performance.

2. Langkawi Cable Car

The Langkawi Cable Car is one of the most-visited attractions in Malaysia. It offers an exhilarating experience as you take to the skies in this 2.2 km long gondola lift.

The ride starts and ends at Oriental Village in the north-west of Langkawi Island. The gondola travels 1700m to Middle Station before a further 5 minutes ride to Top Station.

It is a great way to get up close and personal with the mountains of Langkawi and see the rainforests that cover them. You’ll also get to experience one of the world’s longest curved suspension SkyBridges with a sweeping 360-degree view of rock tower peaks and glimpses of Southern Thailand.

3. Sky Bridge

A symbol of modern engineering, the Langkawi Sky Bridge is a 125-metre-long curved pedestrian cable-stayed bridge that spans a valley between two mountain peaks. It was completed in 2005 and stands as one of the world's highest.

The bridge has a curved walkway, which provides a unique and varying perspective of the landscape from every gentle turn you make. It is an iconic structure that represents the best of Malaysian engineering.

4. Seven Wells Waterfalls

One of the most famous waterfalls in Langkawi, the Seven Wells Waterfall is a natural wonder attracting hikers and swimmers from all over. The falls plunge 91 meters from the second highest mountain on the island, Gunung Mat Cincang.

The upper section of the waterfall splits into 7 pools of different depths and sizes that are connected by a river, forming a smooth natural waterslide along the slick rockface. The most tempting yet potentially treacherous pool is the natural infinity pool at its mouth, where a deceptively strong river current could sweep swimmers into an unintended swim.

Langkawi

5. Marine Park

Located 30 km south of Langkawi, the Marine Park is one of Malaysia's top diving and snorkeling destinations. It has an abundance of coral reefs and an extensive range of fish.

It's also a great place to relax and enjoy a bit of sun and sea air. The beaches here are well-maintained and have picnic areas, toilets, barbecue and shaded areas.

In recent years, the Marine Park has undergone some changes. A new jetty has been built, as have staff quarters, gazebos and resting areas.

6. Temuran Waterfalls

Langkawi is a renowned island with its mind-blowing beaches and dense rainforests but it also houses waterfalls that are a must-see attraction for visitors.

Temuran Waterfalls is one of the tallest natural waterfalls on Langkawi and cascades from the northern incline of Mount Mat Cincang, a 850-metre-high mountain. It boasts a majestic drop of 30 meters and is accessible by walking from the carpark along Jalan Datai.

The falls are a seasonal attraction so make sure you visit during the wet season (April-November) to experience its full flow. It is best to visit during weekdays as local crowds are more common during weekends.

7. Art in Paradise 3D Museum

The Art in Paradise 3D Museum is one of the best things to see and do in Langkawi. Located next to the renowned cable car ride in Oriental Village, this three-storey building houses more than 200 elaborate works of art.

The artworks appear almost alive and will entice your eyes to follow them into strange environments. This place is a must visit for those who love photography and want to take cool photos with life-like illusions.

There are several zones or sections in the museum, each having its own theme and type of 3D art. These include the Optical Illusion zone tricking your eyes to see the image differently, Aquarium zone full of images of marine life, Safari zone depicting artwork with animal life, couple of Interactive zones where you can interact with the art objects, Fantasy zone where you will feel you are in dreams and Classic zone with replicas of artwork from famous artists.
