Whether you’re visiting Malaysia or just a local, the Petronas Towers are a must-see in Kuala Lumpur. But there are a few things you should know before you go.

The first thing you need to do is buy a ticket online. This is the best way to ensure that you get a spot on your desired date and time.

1. Get There Early

Getting there early to visit Petronas Towers is one of the best ways to get a better experience. When you arrive early, you’ll have all of your gear prepared and ready to go, and it will be much easier for you to navigate the day without any hassles.

This is especially important if you want to climb the Sky Bridge, as there are often long lines to go up. Booking your tickets online in advance can give you skip-the-line access and help you make the most of your time.

As one of the world’s most iconic landmarks, Petronas Towers are a must-see for anyone visiting Kuala Lumpur. Despite their modern architecture, they still resonate with Malaysia’s culture and pay homage to Islamic art. The buildings are a symbol of the country’s pride and ingenuity.

2. Don’t Bring Cameras or Selfie Sticks

Many tourist attractions around the world discourage people from taking photos to protect art, copyright or to preserve historical landmarks. In addition, some places ban selfie sticks and tripods outright.

As a result, it can be a bit of a challenge to get the best photo of the Petronas Towers without a camera or selfie stick handy. Thankfully, the view from the Sky Bridge and 86th floor observation deck is a pretty stellar one that’s incredibly worth it.

The best part is, however, that if you have your camera or selfie stick with you, you’ll have a much easier time getting the shot you want without attracting the attention of security personnel. In fact, several music festivals have recently banned selfie sticks from their grounds because they think the devices are a nuisance and encourage people to take unauthorized photos of performers.

3. Go at Night

As the iconic icon of Kuala Lumpur, the Petronas Towers are a must-see when visiting this Malaysian city. These 452-meter (approximately 1,480 foot) twin skyscrapers are a stunning sight to behold, and one of the best places to take photos of them is from above at night.

A lot of people head to the Towers during the day, but going at night is a much more memorable experience. Besides the views, you’ll have the chance to see the city lit up from above.

The easiest way to get to the Towers is to use one of the many public transport options in Kuala Lumpur. These include the MRT, KTM and LRT lines.

4. Don’t Skip the Sky Bridge

The Petronas Towers are the tallest twin buildings in the world, and the Sky Bridge connects them. It’s also the highest two-story bridge in the world, giving visitors a bird’s eye view of Kuala Lumpur city.

If you want to skip the queues, we recommend buying tickets in advance. These tickets will give you a time slot for your visit and will allow you to avoid unnecessary lines while enjoying the amazing views.

Once you’ve made your purchase, you must present your ticket at the entrance gate to get access to the Sky Bridge. Once inside, you’ll be greeted by a tour guide who will take you up the Sky Bridge on the 41st floor of the tower.

5. Get a Photo Pass

If you’re going to be taking pictures while you’re at the towers, it’s a good idea to get a photo pass. This way, you’ll have a clear view of the sky without any obstructions.

This is especially important if you’re planning on taking photos of the buildings at night. When it’s dark, the lights will be a little brighter and more colourful, making for some stunning photos.

While there is no official timing when it’s best to visit the towers, they do open for a few hours before and after sunset. This is a great time to take photos of the twin buildings and city skyline, plus you can also see a light and fountain show in KLCC Park.
