Can Buffalo really be seen in a single day?

Buffalo is a city of impressive cultural history. With tourist attractions that are unlike anything else, it’s a must-see destination for those visiting New York State.

The Albright-Knox Art Gallery in downtown Buffalo features a wide range of artworks from different eras and styles. It’s an inspirational place to see some of the world’s greatest works of art.

1. Buffalo Museum of Science

The Buffalo Museum of Science is a great place for kids and adults alike to learn about the world around them. It has plenty of exciting exhibits that teach you about space, bugs and other topics.

It has more than 700,000 specimens from all over the world that represent every thing there is to know about nature. It also has a great collection of artifacts that are relevant to the region.

The second floor has an area called Hamlin Hall that is filled with taxidermied animals from all over the world and fossils. In this area is a gigantic mastodon and a triceratops fossil dinosaur skeleton.

Niagara Falls

2. Shea’s Performing Arts Center

Shea’s Performing Arts Center is one of the best places to see live entertainment in Buffalo. This historic theater is a top venue for touring Broadway musicals, concerts, dance, comedy and free family films.

Originally opened as an elaborate movie house in 1926, Shea’s is modeled after a European opera house and is a National Historic Site. It was designed by C.W. and George L. Rapp of Chicago and features an interior Neo-Spanish Baroque design.

It has one of the largest organs in the country called the Mighty Wurlitzer and is the perfect place for touring broadway shows. Check the Shea’s official website for show schedules and ticket prices.

Niagara Falls

3. Eternal Flame Falls

A hiker’s dream, Eternal Flame Falls in Shale Creek Preserve is one of the most unique natural attractions you’ll ever see. A small grotto within the waterfalls emits natural gas and can be lit to produce a flame that burns brightly right under the waterfall.

Located in Chestnut Ridge Park in western New York, this waterfall is popular with nature enthusiasts and photographers. The best time to visit is the last week of September and first week of October, as this is when the area comes alive with fall colors.

A trail leads to the waterfall, and you can take a 1.2-mile walk to reach it. It can be muddy and rocky, so we recommend you bring hiking shoes. The trail also has a few steep parts, so be prepared for a bit of a challenge!

Buffalo City Hall

4. Buffalo City Hall

Built after World War I, Buffalo City Hall is an architectural marvel and a must-see for tourists. This Art Deco building rises 32 stories and offers stunning views of downtown, Lake Erie, and the surrounding area.

In 1999, this building was put on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors can go on a tour of the building and observe breathtaking views from the observation deck at the top floor.

The building features many statues and murals depicting important events in Buffalo’s history. It also features symbolic reliefs that represent the virtues of good citizenship, virtue, diligence, service, and fidelity.

5. Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is an iconic destination that attracts millions of visitors each year. It is home to three waterfalls – Horseshoe, American and Bridal Veil Falls – which cascade into the Niagara River.

If you want to take a closer look at the Falls, a guided tour is an excellent option. These are usually offered on a variety of different dates and include a tour of other local attractions as well.

The best time to visit Niagara Falls is in late spring and summer. During these months, the weather is perfect for touring and the crowds are much lower.
