If you are a big fan of outdoor art, a sculpture park is an excellent place to visit. There are many different kinds of sculptures, from bugs to animals to political themes to history.

The Sculpture Park is an open-air gallery of modern Lithuanian sculptures founded in 1977. Today it covers a 12 hectare area and exhibits 116 unique sculptures created by 67 Lithuanian artists.

Visitors are encouraged to take a walk around the park and explore these unique works of art. The Sculpture Garden is a popular destination for couples, families and kids alike.

The park is also a great place to relax and enjoy the fresh air. There are several benches to sit and admire the artwork, or you can go in search of a picnic spot. The Sculpture Park is completely free to visit and is a wonderful way to spend a day in the city.

Black Ghost Statue

The Black Ghost Statue is one of the most recognizable landmarks in this historic Lithuanian port city. This ghoulish monument stands as a tribute to the victims of an untimely demise, and is also an excellent example of how art and architecture can enhance a place by giving people a sense of pride in their home town.

The statue is actually quite large and is crafted from black granite. It is about 17 meters high and was a labor of love for three stone carvers.

The statue has been a tourist hotspot for over 150 years and has earned a reputation as a ghost sighting. The best way to experience this site is by foot. Several tours are offered, but it is highly recommended you book in advance. There have been reports of a variety of apparitions, from a disembodied hand to a pair of legs that run along the edge of the path. The park is open daily from 9am to 10pm.

Maritime Museum

Located at the northernmost point of the Curonian Spit, the Maritime Museum is a great place to explore the history of sailing. It also offers a dolphin show and exhibitions that are sure to appeal to kids and adults alike.

The Maritime Museum is a must-see for anyone interested in sailing, but if you don’t feel like heading over there, there are plenty of other things to do and see in Klaipeda. Take the family for a day to explore the city, or plan a half-day trip and attend one of the many shows that are offered here.

A good way to experience the Old Town is by walking its grid layout of narrow streets. The widest among them, Turgaus (Market) and Tiltu (Bridges), are a great place to stroll.
