The regenerative capabilities of the heterotrichous ciliate Stentor are well known, but the exact mechanism behind their ability to grow from fragmented cells is still unknown. To better understand this process, we performed RNA sequencing of individual Stentor polymorphus cell fragments to identify genes involved in their regeneration capability.

Poppelsdorf Castle
Poppelsdorf Castle is a lovely spot to visit. It is surrounded by tranquil lawns and has a small stream running through it.
The palace was built in 1715 and is a fine example of German baroque architecture. It was originally the summer residence of Prince Clemens August.
It was later given to Bonn University and the botanical gardens around it were created. The palace also has a beautiful memorial to Beethoven where a bronze bust of the musician is displayed.

Museum of the History of the Federal Republic of Germany
The Museum of the History of the Federal Republic of Germany is one of the most popular places to see and to do in Bonn. It offers an entertaining overview of recent German history through a variety of audio-visual displays.
Designed by architects Ingeborg and Hartmut Rudiger, the Haus der Geschichte is located at Bundstrasse 9. The museum holds a permanent exhibition presenting German history from 1945 until today.
This museum is a great place to learn about the German history from different perspectives, and it also offers many tours of historical sites around Bonn. In addition, it has a large collection of cartoons and an excavated Roman cellar.
Before West Germany's reunification in 1949, Bonn was little more than a sleepy Rhineland town. That's why it was such a good choice for the provisional capital of the new state.
Siebengebirge
The Siebengebirge, or Seven Mountains, is one of the most beautiful spots to see in Bonn. The hilly, low mountain range boasts a collection of volcanic peaks and forests.
